Day 6. Dorothy had a reasonably quiet night last night. No major crises.
Mikele says she went into the cupboard to get something, ran across the chocolate pudding (something Dorothy likes a lot), and had a little meltdown. Rather than going completely nuts, she called out to her big Sister, who's in town to help: "Tam... Hide the chocolate pudding!" and that helped a lot.
These first four days are the really critical ones for a coma patient.
Dorothy has met all the important milestones during this period.
So again, now it's sort of just a waiting game, to see how she does.

She always did love her pudding. I miss you Dorothy. Sneaking off in Service Repair just to check up on your blog since I can't be there in person. =(

To Bob & Mikele: You don't know me, but I know what you are going through. It has been 10 years since my son's accident, he is now 27. The things that Dorothy is doing remind me of what my son did while in a coma. I personally think these are good signs, but I'm not a doctor. Then one morning he woke up and wrote down that he wanted Welch's strawberry soda! His favorite. Recovery takes time, don't ever give up. I just wanted you to know that there are people out here thinking about you and praying for Dorothy's recovery. I will check back daily to watch her progress and maybe chime in once in a while. God bless you...Donna
everything i see reminds me of her. chocolate pudding does for sure. i remember lunches where i would put teddy grahams into her pudding and then someone threw a teddy graham down my shirt.
