Dorothy has been reporting to me from time to time about various difficulties she's still having. Something about her vision isn't working quite right - she says it's "darker" - other times she says it's like tunnel vision, but not really. So I guess we're going to request a visit to an opthamologist too. Whee. Right now we're waiting for the insurance referrals to: Orthopedic surgeon, Neurosurgeon, Ear, Nose & Throat doctor, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation doctor, and the Physical, Speech and Occupational therapists. Life is going to get very busy...
Dorothy also reports that she feels like she's in a 'dreamlike' state that sometimes leaves her confused - kind of like you feel right before you fall asleep, she says.
These make this mother's heart ache. I wish she could be perfectly healed today. Please pray for Dorothy's continued recovery. I find myself so reluctant to leave her anywhere, even where I know she'll be safe.

Dear Bob and Mikele
I have spoken with Bob at work about my son's auto accident, with some similarities to Dorothy's conditions (and miraculous recovery steps). Please know that time will help resolve many of the intense issues/along with good medical help. Remind the insurance company that they promise to provide/allow proper care for your daughters health and if you have to, let them know legal recourse is always an option. This was suggested to me by a medical staff who helped with my son. Dorothy is young enough to be amazingly transparent about what she is now experiencing. My son was older and hesitant to go into detail, but I could tell he had many similar issues - and two years later it is all wonderfully better! Remind the insurance company that timely (NOW)follow-up and care can lessen/prevent any future escalation - they need to move now, and don't give up. You have all done well - and MOM some of your concerns are SO NORMAL - as you get more control and as time passes and you see her continue to heal (lots of prayer) your anxiety and protectiveness can diminish (be easy on yourself and call EAP counsellor if needed.
I know a good one) You are amazing parents and have been traumatized beyond what is normal in life. GOD Bless you and strengthen you and provide you with a place of peace in the months, years ahead.
Thank you so much for your advice and support. It's so reassuring to know my feelings are normal!
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We will all make sure and continue to give Dorothy support from her group of friends at school. She can get better. Keep us all posted on what is happening. And, Mrs. Dorothy's Mom, Mikele: Dorothy is lucky to have you, a caring person, to look after her. Good luck to you all!
